In an unexpected turn of events, Niverville’s town council recently declined the opportunity to play host to the next Manitoba Winter Games, which are to be held in 2026.

Providence University’s women’s basketball team is coming off a momentous weekend that began with back-to-back wins (98–46 and 98–30 respectively) against the Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges.

It was a chippy Sunday afternoon at the CRRC as the Nighthawks fell short in a tough 5–2 loss to the Dauphin Kings. With the loss, the Nighthawks stay in fourth place in the MJHL’s East Division with a record of 21–18–4.

The Providence University College Pilots women’s basketball team faced the Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges on January 24 and pulled off an impressive win with a final score of 78–31.

The TC Energy Centre will host the return of the Île-des-Chênes Snowman Festival on Saturday, February 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Residents from Île-des-Chênes and the surrounding area are welcome to join in on the family-friendly fun.
