The RM of Ritchot’s recreation team has been hard at work this summer dreaming up creative ways to enhance community well-being by keeping residents active and engaged. Their newest initiative includes a series of concerts they call Homegrown Harmonies.

The Niverville Nighthawks continued their torrid run on Saturday night, coming from behind to defeat the Dauphin Kings 4–2 at Credit Union Place and extend their winning streak to 11 games.

When it comes to crime stats in Niverville and Ritchot, according to Corporal Melanie Roussel, RCMP media relations officer, 2025 maintained the status quo from the previous year. There doesn’t seem to be a direct correlation between crime rates and population growth.

If the first two meetings of the season were any indication, Tuesday night’s third showdown between the Niverville Nighthawks and Portage Terriers was destined to be tight. Through the first 50 minutes, it lived up to the billing.

According to Ritchot fire chief Scott Weir, emergency call in 2025 were pretty consistent with prior years. In total, 144 calls were received last year as compared to 147 in 2024.

To look into the soul of an artist, gaze upon their art. On January 29, 30 Niverville High School (NHS) students from Tony Clark’s Grade 12 art class put their souls on canvas for the world to see, with inspiring and thought-provoking results.

It may still be January, but the Niverville Nighthawks have already become the first team in the MJHL to clinch a postseason berth. A dominant road win over the Winnipeg Blues on Friday night improved Niverville to a perfect 5–0 against the Blues this season and extended the Nighthawks’ winning streak to 13 games.

For the second time in eight days, the Niverville Nighthawks travelled to Dauphin to face the Kings—and for the second time, the Nighthawks came out with a win.

The Niverville High School grad committee is excited to be bringing the grad social back home for 2026.
