Niverville’s Old Tyme Country Fair has announced that the James Barker Band will headline this year’s fair, scheduled to open June 7–8. The James Barker Band will hit the mainstage Saturday night.

Clint and Angie Masse of A Maze in Corn say it’s official, they’ve got the Guinness World Record certificate to prove it. Upon completion, the maze near St. Adolphe measured 2,789.11 square meters, beating the previous recordholders in Thunder Bay by more than 1,000 square meters.

Joey Villanueva, a singer from Niverville, has taken one of the top prizes in this year’s Pinoy Pop Star, a singing competition that features the best of the best in Manitoba’s Filipino community. The grand finals took place in front of a sold-out crowd at the McPhillips Street Casino in Winnipeg.
