The Hanover School Division (HSD) and CLAC Local 306, the union representing Hanover EAs, have come to a tentative deal. On Wednesday, November 22, it’ll be back to the voting station for the striking EAs to determine whether the newest deal will be ratified.

The union’s bargaining committee will meet with the EAs on Wednesday about the deal, a deal which the bargaining committee will recommend that the EAs vote to accept.

The EAs will have until 8:00 p.m. to cast their vote.

Proposals were exchanged between the division and union reps throughout last week, with the tentative agreement reached over the course of the weekend. The details were finalized on November 20, including a swift return to work if the EAs accept the deal.

The HSD board ratified the tentative deal on November 21.

Should the EAs vote in favour, they will begin their return to work by Thursday, November 23. The new collective agreement will be effective as of September 1, 2022, with retroactive remuneration due by December 15.

If the deal is not accepted, the strike will resume as usual on Thursday of this week.
