At its November 19 public meeting, Niverville’s council approved conditional use applications for two new automotive businesses, both destined for the Niverville business park.
The first applicant was Kaled AlJelihawi and his business, Qaya Automotive Inc. The applicant intends to provide onsite vehicle sales with a maximum of 20 cars at a time. Minor vehicle servicing will also be carried out on site.
The second application came from Justin Wood and J. Wiens and Sons Distribution, who are looking to open a custom automotive restoration and metal fabrication shop. Council also approved this business, with the condition that a fence be installed around the property.
This upcoming week, from November 22–23, council will settle in for its long annual planning sessions where all budgetary items for 2025 are heard and discussed.
“We start at around 7:30 on Friday morning and will go till probably 11:00 on Friday night,” says CAO Eric King.
On Saturday, he says, they do it all over again until the 12-page agenda has been reviewed and every delegation heard. King says that an interim budget plan for the new year will be released in early December.
