Laura and Julien Grenier of Niverville have big plans for their recent real estate purchase: 86 Main Street. The building, which formerly served as Niverville’s town office before becoming a dog daycare, has been extensively renovated and will soon be home to the Grenier Group Chartered Professional Accountants (GGCPA) and OSIX, a luxury hair extension brand.

Julien is the guiding hand of GGCPA. Before starting the company, he worked his way into partnership for a small Winnipeg-based accounting firm and helped it grow into a large interprovincial firm with almost 100 staff members. He started Grenier Group in the couple’s basement and now, less than a year later, has a staff of nine.

Grenier Group is a full-service accounting firm. They do everything from preparing corporate and personal tax returns to more complex transactions such as business acquisitions and estate planning.

The other half of the Greniers’ new property will belong to Laura’s hair extension studio. Before founding OSIX, Laura owned and operated her own salon for 15 years.

“During my salon days, I curated my in-house brand of hair extensions, which served as the foundation to the relationships and knowledge needed to create the OSIX line of luxury extensions,” she says. “There is so much misinformation about hair extensions and we love connecting with our clients whether it’s through our stylist education program, one on one, or at some of our glamourous OSIX events.”

OSIX sells to salons, stylists, beauty supply stores, and directly to the consumer. Their new office space will be used as a showroom, media space, and shipping location.

Julien grew up in Île-des-Chênes and met Laura when they were only 16. In 2018, they purchased a home in Niverville with a plan to start their family there,

In the meantime, life threw them some curveballs and they wound up first moving back to Winnipeg before coming back to Île-des-Chênes, then St. Adolphe, and finally the outskirts of Niverville with three children.

“Entrepreneurship has been prevalent throughout our time together,” says Laura. “Together we have also built up a rental portfolio of commercial and residential rental units, most of which are in the Niverville and St. Adolphe area.”

The Greniers have already established connections with other local businesses and say that they have received a warm welcome.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the community and look forward to providing our services to this part of Manitoba,” she adds. “We hope to continue to grow our operations using Niverville as our home base, employ local residents, and help grow the community.”

The Greniers expect to have their new office space ready to open on January 2, 2025.
