The twenty-fourth annual Bison Classic Motorcycle Rally is set to take place this weekend and visitors are invited to attend the show ‘n’ shine portion of the event on Saturday, June 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cheyenne Park in Ste Agathe.

The rally is organized by the Antique Motorcycle Club of Manitoba (AMCM) and is chaired by David Leduchowski, a member of the AMCM for nearly 20 years.

Leduchowski says that the show ‘n’ shine is about more than just looking at motorcycles.

“Visitors can expect to see beautifully restored vintage motorcycles of all makes dating back to the earliest years of the last century,” he says. “They will hear the stories of members about restoration, racing, hill climb races, and wartime use of motorcycles from different eras.”

The show ‘n’ shine is a free event for spectators. Burgers, hot dogs, pop, and chips will be for sale, with all proceeds going to the AMCM’s chosen charity: the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Manitoba.

The AMCM was formed in 1976. In 2010, they merged with the Manitoba Motorcycle Club, which began all the way back in 1911. The merged group is now the oldest motorcycle club in Canada, and the fourth oldest in the entire world.

This year, registered participants from multiple provinces and Minnesota will spend the weekend in Cheyenne Park sharing their love of motorcycles and the people who ride them.

“Come on out,” Leduchowski says. “Enjoy the vintage bikes, people and stories!”
