On Wednesday, October 4, Ritchot’s council took the first steps toward creating new daycare spots in the community of Ile-des-Chenes. To set the project in motion, council voted unanimously in favour of a resolution to provide a serviced two-acre lot for the daycare’s use.

For the second year in a row, the Providence University College basketball and volleyball teams will be playing their home games at the CRRC in Niverville. This month we’re kicking off our regular coverage of their teams, including men’s and women’s soccer.

The Niverville Nighthawks continue to roll as they picked up their third straight win on Sunday evening by dispatching the Winnipeg Freeze by a 6–3 scoreline.

The home crowd at the CRRC were in for a treat on Friday night as the Niverville Nighthawks played their best game of the season so far in a 6–0 beatdown of the Winnipeg Freeze.

Niverville residents rolled into the Community Resource and Recreation Centre’s (CRRC) fieldhouse on Wednesday, October 5 to pose questions of seven candidates for town council. Approximately 75 people attended the event in person, with another 200 viewing the live online broadcast, which generated almost a hundred comments from engaged viewers.

The Hanover School Division’s Ward 1 district will see a complete shuffle in trustee leadership on election day, October 26. The Ward 1 district includes schools in Niverville, New Bothwell, Kleefeld, and on the Crystal Springs Hutterite colony.

Sunny skies and warm fall temperatures created the perfect reason for Ritchot residents to get outdoors on September 30 for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR). To encourage them, the RM created story walks along trails in Grande Pointe, Ile des Chenes, Ste. Agathe, and St. Adolphe.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR) was recognized by communities across the country on September 30. Schools around the province also recognized the historical relevance of the day by hosting Orange Shirt Day events during the week leading up to the holiday.
