For 30 years, the Eastman Choral Association (EMCA) has been bringing people together over a shared love of choral music. Recently, however, the organization’s leadership roles have been left vacant. That is, until Meredith Hutchinson and Shannon Sawatzky stepped up.

The Manitoba Country Music Awards are taking place Saturday, November 10 at The Metropolitan Entertainment Centre in downtown Winnipeg. The evening, hosted by Patricia Conroy, will give away awards in 19 categories. 

While most kids are playing sports or participating in extracurricular actives, Daniel Desorcy was busy writing his first song at the ripe age of seven. Now, 16 years later, the young musician is forging his own path into country music.

A local professor is garnering international attention in the music community for a recent original composition of his, “We Say Farewell,” which has been published by the Italian publishing house Da Vinci Edition.

Niverville resident and award-winning singer/songwriter Jordan St. Cyr is gearing up to launch his music career into the U.S. marketplace.

There is no public library in Niverville, but residents are taking matters into their own hands to improve the town access to books.
