In celebration of the upcoming Niverville Nighthawks season, the team is hosting a family-friendly party at the CRRC today, starting at 5:00 p.m. and running until 8:00 p.m.
The season kickoff bash, planned in conjunction with the town of Niverville, will include free playground access (socks required), a craft corner, face-painting, bowling, a bouncy castle, and access to the golf simulator.
Guests will also be able to take part in public skating at the arena and access the walking track.
A pancake supper will begin at 5:00. And if that doesn’t fill you up, there will also be a wing-eating contest, with the ultimate prize being free wings for a year.
Perhaps the biggest feature is the opportunity for locals to get on the ice and skate with the Nighthawks themselves. The players will be on hand along Autograph Alley and new team merchandise will be unveiled in advance of the new season.
Coaches will also be present to participate in a Q&A.
This year’s home-opener will take place on September 22 at 7:00 p.m. against the Selkirk Steelers.
