Just three weeks into the Nighthawks Chase the Ace fundraiser, one lucky winner pulled the ace of spades. On October 8, Tess Martone took away the grand prize when she chose envelope #27, which held the winning card.

Martone’s winnings came to just under $4,000, including the $500 weekly guaranteed payout plus the progressive jackpot of $3,475.

According to Nighthawks vice president Ray Dowse, the odds of winning a Chase the Ace jackpot by the third week comes to less than six percent.

“The Nighthawks are going to be running a second round of Chase the Ace every Monday evening beginning October 21, with the main draw at 8:30 p.m.,” Dowse says. “The pot will be reseeded to $2,500 and we will guarantee a minimum $500 payout each Monday for the first four weeks. It’s not a requirement to be in attendance to win the weekly cash prize or the jackpot.”

While Martone walked away with the biggest prize, Dowse says there were a lot of other prize winners over the course of the past three Mondays.

Fans who attended Chase the Ace nights in the Smitty’s lounge received Nighthawks merchandise and game tickets, Smitty’s gift certificates, and Torque beer.

Thanks to a generous donation by Cameron Rennie & Associates, one lucky winner will be enjoying free seats to the Jets home opener against the Blackhawks, a prize valued at $400.
