Threat Made Against Niverville High School

Share:

Early in the morning of Wednesday, Thursday 21, a student at Niverville Collegiate Institute issued a threat against the school.

“The threat took place online through a social media post,” says a statement from Randy Dueck, Superintendent of Hanover School Division. “We take all threats of this nature very seriously, and therefore local RCMP were contacted immediately.”

Dueck notes that the RCMP responded to the situation quickly and opened an investigation.

“We have been assured that the school is safe, and that lockdown of NCI is not necessary,” Dueck says. “The incident will be reviewed, and we will work with all involved to ensure our schools continue to be a safe and respectful environment for students and staff.”
