RM of Ritchot Closes for Cybersecurity Investigation

On December 12, residents of Ritchot received a notice from the municipal office informing them of a cybersecurity incident which has impacted their electronic systems.

A cybersecurity firm has already been engaged by the office staff to investigate the issue.

In order to conduct the most thorough investigation, the RM office will be closed at 1:00 p.m. on December 23 and will remain closed until January 1.

“At present, we are still determining the scope of the impact and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available,” says the notification.
