On Saturday, December 7, Manitobans of all ages and walks of life are being welcomed inside the Legislature for this year’s Holiday Open House. From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the halls of Manitoba’s capital will come alive with festive food and Christmas carol singing for everyone to participate.

“I am thrilled to welcome Manitobans at the people’s building, the Legislative Building, for our Holiday Open House for the second year in a row,” says Premier Wab Kinew. “As we celebrate the holiday season and reflect on the year, we hope you can kick off the holiday season by joining us for carols and food.”

The event will also provide opportunity for Manitobans to meet their elected officials.

This year marks the second holiday-themed open house since before the pandemic. The 2022 event was cancelled for security and safety reasons when Kinew, then Leader of the Opposition, received threats along with chief public health officer Dr. Brent Roussin.

Attendees to this year’s event are being asked to bring nonperishable food items to support the efforts of Harvest Manitoba. Onsite parking is limited to accessible spots only, but parking is available on surrounding streets and at the Canada Life Centre on Osborne Street.

The event will be livestreamed at https://news.gov.mb.ca for those wishing to celebrate virtually.
