As temperatures spike over the next two days, the Town of Niverville is welcoming residents to gather at the Community Resource and Recreation Centre (CRRC) in order to cool off.
“During this heat wave, the Town of Niverville is taking proactive steps to keep our community healthy,” says Mayor Myron Dyck. “The health of our residents is a priority for the town, and this cooling centre is just one way that we can continue to look after it. We hope that members of the community who need a space to cool off will take full advantage of this cooling centre.”
The CRRC will be available for cooling off on July 11 and July 12, the two days this week that are expected to exceed 30 degrees Celsius. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Users can expect an air-conditioned indoor space, water bottle fill stations, and free Wi-Fi.
Colouring pages will be available for children and accessible seating for seniors.
The town asks that users be aware that the space is also in use by Niverville Recreation and Wellness for their summer camp programming.
