For a better part of a year, commuters along Highway 311 in Niverville have witnessed the gradual construction of an immense structure belonging to Jette Studios. With the exterior now complete, the studio’s president, Juliette Hagopian, is throwing the doors open to the public—for two hours only.
On March 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., residents of Niverville and the surrounding area are invited to an open house meet-and-greet.
“I want to invite people to come and visit, to come and meet me, have a peek into the building, and see what it looks like,” says Hagopian.
Hagopian isn’t anticipating a lot of fanfare. The building is still empty and movie production equipment won’t arrive until sometime after the open house. It’s more of an opportunity to satiate some public curiosity, she says, and introduce herself to the neighbourhood.
It may well be the only opportunity provided to the public, though. Once the equipment is installed and fully operational, Hagopian anticipates production companies will begin renting the space for film shoots.
To cap off the day, Hagopian says there’ll be fireworks from the grounds, which most residents should be able to watch from their residences. The fireworks are set to begin at 9:00 p.m.
