Applications are now being accepted for the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
“The Canada Summer Jobs Program helps employers create summer job opportunities for students in their communities,” says Ted Falk, Member of Parliament for Provencher. “Many young people have difficulty finding valuable work experience. Through this program we are helping them get the skills and training they need for jobs now and in the future.”
The Canada Summer Jobs Program provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create summer job opportunities for students aged 15 to 30.
Last summer, 86 organizations in Provencher received funding, totalling $380,624, to hire 105 summer students. The jobs were wide-ranging and included working at daycares, seniors homes, local museums, and the 2016 Manitoba Summer Games.
The application period will run until January 20.
