This time last year, farmboy turned professional race car driver David Richert had the opportunity to become the fourth Canadian to finish a race through the streets of Monte Carlo at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix weekend. This year, Richert’s got a new challenge on his hands. 

Last year, inspired by a small town’s fundraising efforts in Minnesota, the Town of Niverville purchased equipment for its block party wagon.

Colwyn Abgrall, a local Nivervillian, has come home for the summer and taken on a new challenge. The 20-year-old attends Scottsdale Community College in Arizona as a student athlete studying hospitality/tourism and golf management. Abgrall recently received three awards for maintaining a 4.0 GPA. 

As warmly as the turn of weather is welcomed here in southeast Manitoba, so are the splash pads. Niverville’s splash pad, which opened for the first time last July, is scheduled to begin operations on June 1. The pad is located in Hespeler Park, between Baseball Diamond 4 and Soccer Pitch A. Its hours run from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily.

Amelia likes sports such as soccer, ice skating, and swimming - and she loves riding her bike.

This spring, Niverville Collegiate ran its first-ever high school baseball team under the capable guidance of coaches Ken Kwiatkowski and Dwayne Penner.
