The Niverville Nighthawks proved once again why they sit atop the Manitoba Junior Hockey League standings, edging the Dauphin Kings 2–1 on Sunday afternoon at the CRRC in front of nearly 600 boisterous fans.

After a successful pair of road games in which Niverville delivered big wins over division rivals Steinbach and Selkirk, the Nighthawks returned home to the CRRC on Saturday night with the goal of keeping their momentum rolling. And that’s exactly what happened, with a 6–2 win over the Northern Manitoba Blizzard. The victory marked the Nighthawks’ seventh straight win.

The Niverville Nighthawks continued their impressive run, handing the Selkirk Steelers a 4–1 loss in a marquee matchup between the top two teams in the MJHL’s East Division. The Nighthawks extended their winning streak to six games and moved within a single point of first place in the standings.

Two of the MJHL’s top teams went head-to-head Friday night. This opener of a two-game home-and-home series between the Niverville Nighthawks and Steinbach Pistons lived up to the hype.

The Niverville Nighthawks will have a strong presence on the international stage this December, as the team’s general manager and director of scouting, Mike McAulay, has been named Director of Operations for Team Canada West at the upcoming 2025 World Junior A Challenge.

If the greatness of a community is best measured by the selflessness of its members, then the town of St. Adolphe is in good shape. And it’s true, at least if resident Michael Oman has anything to do with it.
