Travis and Danielle Wiebe of 88 Carats Company are asking for help from the public after a theft occurred at their place of business on April 15.
Somewhere during the nighttime hours, the Wiebes’ jewellery studio at 290 Main Street in Niverville was forcibly entered through a second storey window. The studio was all but cleaned out, leaving the Wiebes with an approximate $300,000 loss.
“At approximately 12:30 a.m., our store was unlawfully entered,” say the Wiebes. “We have reason to believe the individual(s) involved headed south of our location, possibly moving through Edelweiss Crescent, Roselawn Bay, and Spruce Drive shortly before and after the incident.”
Because these streets are accessed by only a single entry point, they are hopeful that residents in this neighbourhood might have camera footage that will be helpful to the investigation.
Information from anyone who observed unusual activity or traffic at that time of night, between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00 a.m., is also sought.
“If the individual(s) responsible are willing to return the items,” the Wiebes continue, “we are willing to offer a generous reward for coming forward and [will] not press charges.”
Danielle and Travis can be reached at 204-801-7848 or 204-371-8565. The St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP detachment can be contacted at 204-433-7908. Refer to file number 2025 492983.
