Paint Department Manager

We’re looking for someone who wants full ownership of a department and takes pride in building something that runs properly.

You’ll lead the paint department end-to-end: people, inventory, vendors, customer experience, and results. If you like accountability, high standards, and being trusted to make decisions — you’ll like this role. If you need micromanagement, you won’t.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Owning the customer and contractor experience in the paint department
Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure best-in-market acquisition costs
Hiring, training, coaching, and holding your team to a high standard
Running the department like a business: inventory accuracy, merchandising, cleanliness, and flow
Using our POS system to manage pricing, ordering, and inventory intelligently
Hitting (and beating) department sales and margin targets
Working closely with senior management on initiatives that actually move the needle

What We’re Looking For

Proven leadership — you’ve led people and aren’t afraid of accountability
Strong communication skills and genuine comfort dealing with customers and contractors
Commercial mindset: you understand that pricing, inventory, and service all matter
High personal standards — you notice what others ignore
Comfortable with systems (Windows, Excel, Word; POS experience is a plus)
Paint experience is an asset, but not required — we care more about how you think and lead
Physically capable of the role (lifting up to 35 lbs, ladders, retail environment)
