The Niverville Nighthawks dropped their second straight game to Portage, falling behind two games to zero in their first round best-of-seven series after losing 5–2 on Saturday night at the CRRC.

The Nighthawks gave it everything they had in game one of their first round best-of-seven series against the Portage Terriers. It took double overtime to decide a winner, but in the first Nighthawks’ playoff game in franchise history, they lost 5–4.

The Niverville Nighthawks accomplished the primary goal of their inaugural season, which was to qualify for the playoffs. Now they have a new goal: to give the MJHL’s league-leading Portage Terriers all they can handle in their first-round series, which gets underway on Friday night.

It was a game that didn’t mean anything to either team, but it still needed to be played. In the final match of the regular season on Sunday afternoon, the Niverville Nighthawks lost 6–4 to the Winkler Flyers in front of a packed home crowd at the CRRC.

With the last game of the men’s volleyball season in the books, Providence University College has lowered the curtain on their 2022-2023 season.

The Niverville Nighthawks continue to trend in the right direction as they head into their first playoff run, defeating the Winnipeg Blues by a 5–1 score on Friday night at the CRRC. The win improves their record to 26–27–4.
