In mid-November, Niverville’s council huddled around the planning table for another long annual planning session. The result was an interim fiscal plan which will give council guidance on spending until the budget is finalized in the spring of 2024.

This week’s speech from the throne kicked off the first session of the forty-third Manitoba Legislature on November 21. Read by Lieutenant Governor Anita Neville, the speech outlined the priorities of Premier Wab Kinew’s government over the coming four years.

Three weeks of strike has come to an end for more than 300 Hanover School Division (HSD) EAs, as 83 percent of them voted to ratify a deal offered by school division. As of Thursday, November 23, it’s back to work as usual for the majority of EAs.

On November 6, Niverville opened the gates on its newly upgraded community off-leash dog park, much to the enjoyment of both its two-legged and four-legged patrons.

The Hanover School Division (HSD) and CLAC Local 306, the union representing Hanover EAs, have come to a tentative deal. On Wednesday, November 22, it’ll be back to the voting station for the striking EAs to determine whether the newest deal will be ratified.

Beginning November 17, Ste. Agathe residents will have access to their own hometown doctor. Using newly created clinic space inside the Ste. Agathe Pharmacy, Dr. Riviraj Warnakulasooriya, more easily called Dr. Rivi, will meet with scheduled and drop-in patients from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every Friday going forward.
