Ritchot’s council met on the evening of July 15 to address a variety of items on their agenda. Mayor Chris Ewen was present at the municipal office to chair the meeting. However, the other councillors continued to meet via remote video software.

High-speed fibre optic internet is one step closer to becoming a reality for residents of Ritchot.

A local business, Main Street Storage, is on the cusp of a major expansion. Currently operating out of 226 Main Street in Niverville, the business offers heated, climate-controlled storage lockers.

A few highly visible beautification projects are taking shape around Niverville this summer: the Heritage Wall on Main Street, the Niverville Heritage Pavilion, a community mural at the post office, and more trees for residential streets. These projects are all being overseen by the Niverville Communities in Bloom (NCIB) committee.

The Province of Manitoba is about to undertake an extensive round of highways repairs, spending $150 million to resurface more than 240 kilometres of roadway. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon.
