The Hanover School Division has appointed Kimberley Funk as principal for the new high school in Niverville, which is shortly about to begin construction.
Funk currently serves as Vice Principal of Landmark Collegiate, a role she has held since 2013. She will transition into her new role beginning in February 2019, seven months before the new school is scheduled to open.
Funk also has previous experience as a guidance counsellor at Steinbach Regional Secondary School. Prior to that, she taught for many years in Mitchell Elementary School, Mitchell Middle School, and Niverville Elementary School.
A sod-turning ceremony for the new school, which will serve 450 students from Grades Nine through 12, took place on the morning of Friday, March 23.
