Niverville High School is entering its second week of classes and students and staff are settling into new routines. But what about the rest of the community? Many people around town have been looking at the impressive new building and wondering when they’ll have an opportunity to explore inside.

That opportunity will come this week, on Wednesday, September 11, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the school’s Community Open House. The event, which also doubles as the first Meet the Teacher night, will feature tours of the school for not just parents, but anyone from town who’s interested in seeing the new facility.

“Everyone is welcome!” says Principal Kimberley Funk. “Guides will be available to take people on a tour through the building, or they can wander at their own pace.”

Funk also says that the first day of school went exactly as planned.

“The students were excited as they walked through the doors of their brand-new school and were amazed by the bright, open, inviting space,” she says. “Our incredible team of teachers and support staff facilitated a variety of activities and opportunities to help welcome and orient the students to their new school.”

Notably, the school’s Parent Advisory Council was on hand to both direct traffic and barbecue 700 hot dogs for the students and staff.

“The day was a success on all levels and we are looking forward to a fabulous school year,” she finishes.
