Local vendors and artisans are gearing up to descend on the TC Energy Centre in Île-des-Chênes for the annual Market on 59 event, to be held this upcoming Sunday, September 13. The doors will open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m.
Organizer John Falk of John Peter Events says that the market has been given the green light to proceed by Manitoba Public Health and will be following their guidelines to ensure the safest possible experience for guests as well as vendors.
Some vendors will be located outside, along with food trucks. Inside the building, vendors will be spaced further apart and the aisleways will be wider than usual to help people more effectively distance from one another.
“The majority of the vendors are from the southeast area, so it’s a great opportunity to support local small businesses,” says Falk.
Approximately 50 vendors have been confirmed, representing a wide array of local makers and entrepreneurs from food producers and artists to local authors and booksellers. There will likely be something for everyone.
The indoor canteen will be operated this year by A Taste of Africa, and PERK Events will be running their coffee bar. Food trucks will be available outside the event centre.
The event is sponsored by the RM of Ritchot, and all admission will be free at this year’s event courtesy of the municipality.
