With winter right around the corner, one local woman is sure to stay warm after being named the recipient of a new furnace, courtesy of Southern Comfort Mechanical Inc. (SCMI).
The Niverville company had the privilege of taking part in the Feel the Love program, which was started by Lennox in 2009 and gives communities the opportunity to give one lucky person a free high-efficiency Lennox furnace. This is the first year that SCMI has been able to take part, as the program is only available to premier dealers, which SCMI became last year.
Since 2009, Feel the Love has helped over 850 families. The program relies on local communities nominating deserving families or individuals. Those nominees are chosen based on a variety of factors, including a hardship or challenge, as well as their community involvement. Once the nominee is selected, Lennox provides the furnace and equipment free of charge to its participating dealers to install at the recipient’s home.
Ann Nickel, a Niverville resident, had the furnace installed on October 6 by a team of SMCI associates and volunteers. In addition to installing the new furnace, the team also helped with a few odd jobs around the house.
