The Town of Niverville’s water services are back to normal on Monday, July 23 after residents were asked to conserve water over the past few days.
“Town staff and our consultants have completed their work and have now restored water service to its full capabilities,” reads a statement from the town. “The line was successfully cleaned and purged, removing all evidence of iron residue from the raw water line.”
Last week, Mayor Myron Dyck described the interruption of regular service as a hiccup resulting from the town’s recent connection to a new water supply. The large increase in consumption over the past few weeks had led to a large amount of iron sediment building up in the water line. Dyck says that the town’s maintenance protocols will be updated to avoid this kind of issue in the future.
“We would like to thank our residents for their understanding, and the Town thanks those who went above and beyond in conserving their water usage during this hiccup,” the statement continues. “All outdoor water usage is now permitted with no restrictions in place for the Town of Niverville.”
