The Providence Pilots men’s basketball team had a tremendous weekend with wins against the Millar College of the Bible (82–53), Canadian Mennonite University (86–81), and Université de Saint-Boniface (89–58).

This summer, professional paddler Lesley Gaudry of St. Adolphe connected with Madison Eklund, a 26-year-old kayaker making a long and ambitious trek from Fort Snelling, Minnesota to York Factory, Manitoba via the Red River. Eklund is believed to the first person to complete such a trek alone, at least in modern times.

The Niverville Nighthawks had their four-game win streak snapped on Friday night when they fell 6–2 to the Portage Terriers on the road at Stride Place. With the loss, the Nighthawks stay in fourth place in the MJHL’s East Division with a 12–10–1 record.

For the first time in franchise history, the Niverville Nighthawks have won four games in a row after dismantling the Selkirk Steelers 7–3 on Saturday night at the Selkirk Recreation Complex. With the win, the Nighthawks improve their record to 12–9–1 and remain fourth in the MJHL’s East Division.

It was a very forgettable encounter on Sunday evening as the Niverville Nighthawks fell 5–2 to the Winkler Flyers. With the loss, the Nighthawks stay in fourth place in the MJHL’s East Division with a record of 15–13–2.

On Friday night at the CRRC, the Niverville Nighthawks captured their third straight game when they defeated the Selkirk Steelers by a 4–3 score. With the win, the Nighthawks improve to 11–9–1 on the season, further securing their hold on fourth place in the MJHL’s East Division.
