The Niverville Nighthawks couldn’t find the win column again on Sunday afternoon at the CRRC as they dropped their third straight game, losing 4–2 to the Virden Oil Capitals. With the loss, the Nighthawks stay in fourth place in the MJHL’s East Division with a record of 19–17–3.

The Providence Pilots are back in action after a well-deserved winter break. In women’s basketball, the Pilots defeated Free Lutheran Bible College 81–39 on January 12. For the next two days, they played Oak Hills Christian College, losing their first game 83–88, then capturing a 112–103 victory the next day.

The Niverville Nighthawks had another big effort on Friday evening as they dispatched the Winkler Flyers on the road by a score of 4–2 score. With the win, the Nighthawks sit seven points behind the Flyers, who are in third place in the division.

Clipper Ice Sports (CIS) is having a banner year, according to its board president, Travis Mason. This season, CIS has 225 registered players and a record number of players who have graduated out of CIS into Eastman AA and AAA regional teams.
