The Niverville Nighthawks are fighting for their playoff lives after a gut-wrenching 3–2 double overtime loss to the Steinbach Pistons on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Nighthawks go down 3–1 in the best-of-seven series.

The Steinbach Pistons continue to show why they are the top team in the MJHL this season. In game two, they notched another convincing 5–2 victory over the Niverville Nighthawks in the first round series.

In early March, Chantel Todd, recreation director for the town of Niverville, was honoured with the Prairie Crocus Award, the most prestigious award given by Recreation Manitoba. The award is given to those who have made significant contributions to recreation and leisure services.

The Niverville Nighthawks will enter the MJHL playoffs as massive underdogs in their first-round series against the top-seed Steinbach Pistons.

On March 8, the CRRC in Niverville, in association with Sport Manitoba, hosted its first Bison Transport Girls Multi-Sport Event.

The Niverville Nighthawks are off to the postseason for the second straight year after a convincing 5–1 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders on the final night of the regular season. With the win, the Nighthawks finish the campaign in fourth place in the MJHL’s East Division with a record of 30–24–4.
