What do you get when you bring together a group of nighthawks? A kettle. And that’s what the fans and organizers of the Niverville Nighthawks gathered to celebrate just prior to game time on February 16.

The Niverville Nighthawks once again found themselves on the losing side of things on Saturday night, falling 6–3 to the Virden Oil Capitals at the CRRC. With the loss, the Nighthawks stay in fourth place in the MJHL’s East Division with a record of 23–20–4.

Due to their strong first half of the current MJHL campaign, the Niverville Nighthawks found themselves in the position of buyers at the league’s trade deadline, which passed on January 10.

The Niverville Nighthawks once again found themselves on the losing end of things as they fell 7–2 to the Winkler Flyers on Wednesday night on the road. With the loss, the Nighthawks stay in fourth place in the MJHL’s East Division with a record of 23–19–3.

The Niverville Clippers have been awarded the honour of hosting the 2024 Hockey Manitoba Provincials, presented by Cargill, for both the U15 and U18 age levels. The tournaments will be taking place March 1–3 and March 8–10 respectively, in Ste Agathe.

A new team is joining the array of sporting opportunities in southern Manitoba. The Southman Saints Lacrosse Club, based out of the Ste. Agathe Arena, is looking for players of what’s often called “the fastest game on two feet.”
