If the greatness of a community is best measured by the selflessness of its members, then the town of St. Adolphe is in good shape. And it’s true, at least if resident Michael Oman has anything to do with it.

The Niverville Nighthawks, playing their second game in less than 18 hours, gutted out a 4–3 shootout victory over the Neepawa Titans on Sunday afternoon at the CRRC.

Two of the MJHL’s top teams collided Saturday night at the CRRC, and fans were treated to an exciting matchup. In the end, the Niverville Nighthawks outlasted the league-leading Selkirk Steelers 3–2 in overtime.

Until recently, Niverville residents were barely aware of the existence of Opa’s Park. That all changed on October 10 when families, grandparents, park volunteers, and members of council converged on the space to celebrate its grand reopening.

The Niverville Nighthawks couldn’t have asked for a better start to their Friday night matchup against the Neepawa Titans. Despite coming into the game with a perfect 5–0 record, the Nighthawks have been looking for more consistent starts—and they got just that, scoring on their opening shift en route to a dominant 7–1 win.
