The sports teams at Providence University College all play in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC), and that conference has now announced their schedule for the upcoming 2023–2024 season.
The regular season for soccer will begin on the afternoon of Saturday, September 9 with the Providence Pilots hosting the Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) Blazers.
Later in the fall, the 2023 MCAC Soccer Championship will be hosted by CMU on the weekend of October 28–29. Whoever triumphs will earn a spot in the 2023 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Soccer National Championship, an event which will kick off on November 8.
In basketball, the Pilots will begin their regular season on Friday, November 17 with a home game against CMU. The men’s team will be looking to repeat their back-to-back championship titles this season.
The 2024 MCAC Basketball Championship will be hosted by the Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges on March 1–2.
The men’s volleyball team will also start their season as champs, hoping to repeat their success. Regular season games will begin on Friday, November 3 with the Blazers hosting the Pilots.
The 2024 MCAC Volleyball Championship will be hosted by Providence on February 24–25 at the CRRC in Niverville, the winners of which will earn a spot in the 2024 CCAA Volleyball National Championship. The women’s tournament will be held in Red Deer, Alberta from March 6–9 while the men will play in Victoria, British Columbia from March 7–10.
Finally, the MCAC futsal season will begin in the new year—specifically, on Sunday, January 14. The first women’s tournament will be hosted by CMU and the first men’s tournament will be hosted by Providence. The last regular season tournament will take place on February 17.
The 2024 MCAC Futsal Championship will be hosted by Brandon University on March 9–10 at the Healthy Living Centre.
Home game admission prices for all sports are set at $5, with a discounted $3 for those age 55 and over. Free admission is offered to all Providence students, staff, faculty, and alumni, as well as for anyone under the age of 17.
