For the past three years, Fred and Susan Bergmann of Niverville have passionately poured themselves into coordinating the seniors’ lunch program held at the Golden Friendship Centre every Tuesday.

As the Manitoba Youth Job Centre in Niverville enters its fourth month of the summer, activities are gradually winding down.

It’s a big year for the Town of Niverville, commemorating fifty years since its incorporation as an independent community. To celebrate, the town is throwing a party—and they want you there.

Under the traditional strains of Pomp and Circumstance, the last graduating class of Niverville Collegiate Institute marched toward the future at this year’s graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 26. These 55 students said goodbye to NCI, and so did all the rest of us. While next summer will produce another crop of promising graduates, they will be products of Niverville High.

On Tuesday, July 23, Niverville’s town council turned down an application by Canna Cabana to open a cannabis retail outlet on Bronstone Drive. Council’s vote was split 3–2 against the proposal.

On July 20, Bill and Roselyn Redekop celebrated 56 years of marriage—and they have a big story to tell of life and love and all that goes with it. So much so that they published a book in 2010 called Our Story, a biography intended to bear witness to their shared life for the sake of their children, grandchildren, and the future generations to come.
