On Thursday, December 12, MLA Ron Schuler announced a series of grants to help the local communities augment and improve their parks and greenspaces. The total investment by the provincial government equals $220,000, made possible through the Building Sustainable Communities Program.

Niverville Middle School recently won a scholarship which could help pay for a new learning tool. Students and staff applied to the All About Me School Scholarship, a product of myBlueprint, a Canadian website that provides learning programs to secondary students.

Organized by a group of Niverville parents, MoveNGroove is a unique program designed with special needs kids and their caregivers in mind. The program is designed for children from four to fourteen and hosts events geared around having fun, getting active, grooving to music, and sharing a snack with friends.

Pending approval by Niverville’s town council at a meeting on December 17, the town could soon be welcoming the global fitness franchise Anytime Fitness to its business community.

Niverville’s council gathered on the morning of Tuesday, December 3 to discuss a range of business on the town’s agenda. Mayor Myron Dyck was present alongside councillors Nathan Dueck, Kevin Stott, and John Funk. Councillor Chris Wiebe was absent. 

When news broke last month of a young family whose dream of owning a new home in Niverville had been dashed, it raised the ire of many local residents. People are taken advantage of on a regular basis, but not every day does it hit so close to home.
