Niverville Council Meeting in Review—April 19

Niverville’s town council held a regularly scheduled meeting on April 19.

Niverville’s town council held a regularly scheduled meeting on April 19.

Council presented their annual budget proposal and the first and second readings were unanimously passed. There were no residents in attendance to speak either for or against the proposal.

The third reading of the town’s financial plan proposal will take place in a few weeks.

A public hearing was held for the renewal of the conditional use permit for Talk to the Tail, a dog boarding facility located at 86 Main Street.

“The first conditional use [permit] is always subject to one renewal,” says Mayor Myron Dyck. “This was the one renewal. Council approved the conditional use and no other renewal is needed.”

Talk to the Tail received a tremendous amount of support from the community. More than 30 people voiced their approval of the business either in person or via email. There were no objections to the renewal.

Finally, a conditional use permit was requested by Bosco Holdings for their building in the business park. Currently the company has two joined units in one building. Their request was to separate the units and have each serve as a business condo. This request was unanimously granted.
