We are seeking a Maintenance worker that completes repairs and other activities for maintaining the physical asset of the building and property of the Niverville Heritage Centre Campus. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills with previous building maintenance and multi trade experience. This is a full-time position.

What you’ll be doing:
• Troubleshoots maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair and replacement
• Maintains plant and operations equipment such as boilers, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, compressors, and other related facility equipment.
• Performs maintenance, installation and repair of various mechanical equipment and machinery including pumps, motors, compressors, kitchen appliances, laundry appliances, and grounds keeping equipment.
• Performs assigned maintenance duties as directed by the Director.
• Performs basic repairs such as but not limited to patching and painting walls, replacing light bulbs, doorknobs or locks.
• Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletin boards, moves and sets up tables and chairs.
• Supports other team members with delivery of supplies as needed
• To care for and attend to the needs of the outdoor spaces, in all seasons as needed
• Participate in the snow clearing, ice removal and sanding applications as necessary.
• May be required to work evenings, nights and weekend.
What you’ll need:
• Post secondary education in building systems and/or trades and/or a combination of work experience and training will be considered.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong understanding of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft 365.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of electrical, plumbing, and building systems a benefit
• Able to follow written directions and plans.
• Able to maintain regular work attendance.
• Enhanced knowledge in using machinery necessary for maintenance of buildings.
• Work affectively in and around the public.
• Given the cultural diversity of our Home, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
• Ability to read architectural and mechanical drawings
• Ability to maintain accurate record keeping.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• Mental and physical health to meet demands of position.
