On November 29, the TC Energy Centre in Île-des-Chênes filled with entrepreneurs and businesspeople from across the rural southeast. Hosted by the Manitoba Southeast Commerce Group, and made possible by sponsors, the third annual business gala brought the business community together under one roof for a Vegas-style evening featuring table vendors, wine and cheese networking, a live pianist, business awards, and gaming.

The Niverville Nighthawks are officially the top junior hockey team in Canada.

Earlier this week, the Canadian Junior Hockey League released its national rankings, with the Nighthawks overtaking Collège Français de Longueuil (LHJAAAQ) to claim the number one spot in the weekly CJHL Top 20.

Two of the MJHL’s top teams collided Wednesday night in Niverville, and the Portage Terriers came out on top, earning a 3–2 victory and handing the Nighthawks just their second regulation loss of the season.

Just ahead of the new year, Niverville’s council has set for themselves a resolution to bring 300 new daycare spots to the community by 2030.

The Niverville Nighthawks continued their red-hot play on Tuesday night, erupting for six unanswered goals in a commanding 6–1 road win over the Selkirk Steelers.

Earlier this week, the Nighthawks took over the #1 spot in the Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings as the top junior team in the nation. And on Tuesday night, they continued to show why they deserved to be there.
