The Niverville Nighthawks has secured another player this past week, with Carter Spirig signing a letter of intent to join the new squad in September. Spirig currently plays for the Canadian Athletic Club U18AAA Canadians.
Carter, who hails from Edmonton, is a forward. In 37 games played for the U18AAA Canadians, Spirig has combined for 10 goals and 17 assists.
“I’m very excited and honoured to continue my hockey journey with the Nighthawks,” says Spirig. “I’m looking forward to meeting the fans and being a part of the community. I can’t wait to get there. It’s going to be a thrill to get the opportunity to be a part of building this new franchise.”
“Carter is a great kid,” says Cech, who is eagerly anticipating seeing the young skater don a Niverville jersey. “He’s worked hard to round out his game the last couple of seasons. He’s a skilled player with a motor who can put the puck on the net, but he also understands that offence starts in the defensive zone).”
