Grande Pointe

Share:

Grande Pointe is a community so close to the city that it almost feels like a suburb. Just minutes from the south perimeter on Highway 59, this picturesque spot to put down roots lies on the banks of the tranquil Seine River.

Unlike many city suburbs, though, you don’t lose the small-town feel in Grande Pointe. Community is vibrant and active here, where neighbours get to know neighbours and relationships are built into life-long friendships. Kids can play on the streets without concern for high traffic, and a surge in young families and retirees means your kids will have plenty of friends and grandparent figures nearby.

Live. The Grande residential development caters specifically to homeowners looking for room to breathe. Luxury two-acre lots are available for those wanting beautiful custom homes that won’t fit on the average city lot. Three- and four-car garages are easily accommodated here, as well as green space for backyard parties and the kids and pets to run. Many of these lots back right onto the riverfront.

While no direct amenities are located here, few are needed. Sage Creek and River Park South are just minutes from your doorstep. Île-des-Chênes is just five minutes south along the twinned highway.

Work. When you’re this close to Winnipeg, you don’t have to worry about increasing your daily commute. If you’re looking for the right spot to set up a commercial business along a major transport route, Grande Pointe Industrial Acres offers two- and three-acre lots at reasonable rates and lower property taxes than one would expect in the city. Leasing options are also available. Existing businesses in the industrial park already provide many jobs for locals.

Play. Grande Pointe is home to one of the most beautiful and well-maintained parks in the area. Play features for the kids include gymnastic structures, a climbing wall, a labyrinth, swings, and sandboxes. The whole family can enjoy the beach volleyball court, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, and an outdoor skating rink with a warming hut.

A picnic shelter and permanent stage make this an ideal rental location for any large outdoor event. The Grande Pointe Homeowners Association hosts the annual Rock N’ the Park every June. Free public skating and games of pickleball make the park an active place all year-round.

The Seine River provides a serene and quiet spot for canoeing or hiking trails. This densely wooded area is also a unique spot for wildlife and bird-watching, or maybe lounging in the sunshine with a fishing rod in hand.

Across the highway, golfers can practice their swing at the Southside Golf Course.

Seniors support and activities are provided by the Ritchot municipality. With the many communities located in the Ritchot region, active fitness and adventure are just a short drive from your front door.
