The RM of Ritchot’s Recreation Department is encouraging people to get outdoors and get active, even in the colder months. The municipality, in partnership with three local businesses, has a snowshoe lending program. All residents of Ritchot can borrow snowshoes for up to three days.
Equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and a refundable deposit of $20 per pair is required. Snowshoes and poles can be found at Adventure Power Products (797 Quest Blvd in Île-des-Chênes), Ste. Agathe Service Centre (195 Pembina Trail in Ste. Agathe), and the St. Adolphe Pharmacy (457 Main Street in St Adolphe). Each location has eight sets of snowshoes, including poles, in sizes ranging from child’s small to adult’s large.
